Employee of the Year Staff Spotlight: Beth Heath

Today, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Beth Heath, a registered nurse at Hidden River and our Employee of the Year for 2023.

Let’s get to know Beth Heath!

How long have you been with Hidden River?

I’ve been employed at Hidden River for three-and-a-half years.

What are three words that describe you?

I am dedicated, compassionate, and spontaneous.

What’s your favorite quote?

Live well, laugh often, love much.

Name some things you are passionate about in your free time.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cheering on my kids at their various sporting events, traveling, and taking pictures. I also volunteer as an EMT for the Chester First Aid Squad running calls, helping and supporting the community.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you that would surprise them?

I have traveled around the world and gone on many unforgettable adventures. Skydiving, scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, and hot air ballooning have been a few of my most memorable experiences.

How did you start in this field?

I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology and Sport Management. Then, I went on to graduate from Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center Harold B. and Dorothy A. Snyder School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse.

I began my career sixteen years ago working in an allergy and asthma doctors office. Next, I worked in private duty nursing at the local high school before joining the team at Hidden River in 2020.

What do you like most about the work we do at Hidden River?

In the past three years, I have witnessed incredible growth and improvements within the facility.  Being a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team has been a source of immense satisfaction for me in my nursing career. The unity, support, and dedication by the team towards the well-being of the patients and their families is truly remarkable. While challenging at times, seeing the progress the patients make on their road to recovery is so rewarding.

What is your favorite part of your workday?

The best part of the day is interacting with patients and staff!

What’s the best part about working at Hidden River?

Working in collaboration with the entire team at Hidden River brings me great joy as we make a difference in our patients’ lives. Everyone – from the leadership team and nursing staff to the therapists, RAs, dieticians, chefs, and cleaning crew – works tirelessly to do the best we can for our patients. Observing their personal growth and insight from admission to discharge is a gratifying feeling.

Now, let’s take a look at some words of appreciation from Beth’s colleagues.

“Beth is one of the most hardworking people at Hidden River. She brings humor and kindness to everything she does and embraces all of the challenges of the job with a smile and enthusiasm. Beth always puts the patients first – even if that means she has to work extra shifts or stay late (which means a lot after a 12-hour shift!). She inspires those around her to bring more optimism to their work and creates a safe environment for all of our patients. There is no one who deserves this award more!”
