January Staff Spotlight: Gwen Worrell

For this month’s Staff Spotlight blog post, we’re excited to introduce you to Gwen Worrell, our January Employee of the Month and a Recovery Assistant at Hidden River.

Let’s get to know Gwen Worrell!

How long have you been with Hidden River?

It’s been a pleasure to work at Hidden River for nine months.

Name some things you are passionate about in your free time.

One of my biggest passions that takes up a large portion of my free time is theater. Outside of my work at Hidden River, I am an actor and lighting designer. I also enjoy making pottery, gardening, doing yoga, rock climbing, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

What are you currently reading or watching?

One of my goals for 2024 is to read 100 books, so I am currently reading a few right now!

What is your favorite part of your workday?

My favorite part of the work day is participating in an activity group with the girls.

What’s the best part about working at Hidden River?

The best part about working at Hidden River is witnessing the shift in the patients from the time they come to Hidden River to when they leave. Bearing witness to and providing support as the girls challenge their eating disorder and find their voice is such a privilege to witness.

What do you think makes our team culture unique?

When I think about the work I do here at Hidden River and the jobs that I have had in the past, the one thing that really stands out is the people I have the pleasure of working with here. The team at Hidden River is truly the most empathic people I have ever worked with. Everyone here really is passionate about the work they do and it shows.
