March Staff Spotlight: Gabrielle Andolino

For this month’s Staff Spotlight blog post, we’re excited to introduce you to Gabrielle Andolino, our March Employee of the Month and a Therapist at Hidden River.

Let’s get to know Gabrielle Andolino!

How long have you been with Hidden River?

I have been with Hidden River for just shy of three years.

What are three words that describe you?

Compassionate, humorous, talkative.

Name some things you are passionate about in your free time.

I love to travel and have had the privilege of traveling around the world since a young age. NYC is one of my favorite places to visit in my free time! I love going to museums, art galleries, Broadway shows, and new restaurants.

Additionally, I am very family-oriented – I have a very large extended family, and I love spending time with them all. I also love to cook. Food is a cultural importance in my family, and I have been cooking/baking in the kitchen since a young age.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

I am a nationally-ranked synchronized swimmer.

What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job?

I wish people understood that therapists don’t have all the answers about life. We are also humans experiencing real-life situations and learning how to navigate it while we are in this profession.

What do you like most about the work we do at Hidden River?

I love that we provide these young girls with hope that they can create a better, more positive future for themselves. We empower them every day, and that is truly inspiring.

What is your favorite part of your workday?

Spending time in the milieu with the patient’s during freetime. I love seeing them just being teenagers, laughing at something funny or getting competitive during a board game.

What’s the best part about working at Hidden River?

I really enjoy collaborating with so many people from various scopes of practice. I can truly knock on anyone’s door and discuss a case to gain a more collective insight on a patient.
