July Staff Spotlight: Julianne Ryan, RN

For this month’s Staff Spotlight blog post, we’re excited to introduce you to Julianne Ryan, RN, our July Employee of the Month and a Nurse at Hidden River.

Let’s get to know Julianne Ryan!

How long have you been with Hidden River?

I have been with Hidden River for a little over three years.

What are three words that describe you?

Humble, compassionate, and hard-working.

What’s your favorite quote?

“Let the fire inside you burn brighter than the fire around you.”

What’s one thing or place on your bucket list?

I would love to have a dog sanctuary one day.

How did you get started in this field?

I knew I always wanted to go into a helping profession, and I had an interest in psychology from a young age. I started out as a social work major thinking that I wanted to become a therapist. But then, I decided that that wasn’t for me and switched my major to psychology to be able to do an accelerated BSN once I graduated. I ultimately decided nursing was the best way to be able to help people both physically and mentally.

Prior to Hidden River, I worked on an adult inpatient psych unit and an orthopedic/neurology unit. I  found eating disorders particularly interesting because they encompass both physical and psychological components, so that is what led me here.

What do you like most about the work we do at Hidden River?

I love being able to help guide patients through their recovery and provide them with much-needed support.

What is your favorite part of your workday?

I love when patients express gratitude for the care that I provide them.

What’s the best part about working at Hidden River?

The best part is working with such a great team and making a positive impact on patients!
