February Staff Spotlight: Lauren Giangrasso

For this month’s Staff Spotlight blog post, we’re excited to introduce you to Lauren Giangrasso, our February Employee of the Month and a Therapist at Hidden River.

Let’s get to know Lauren Giangrasso.

How long have you been with Hidden River?

It’s been a pleasure to be a member of the Hidden River team for nine months.

What are three words that describe you?

Playful, open-armed, and big-hearted.

Name some things you are passionate about in your free time.

Social justice, the arts, the outdoors, and cuddling with my two beloved senior dogs (my “vintage puppies”)!

What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

I put on a pretty mean show at karaoke night!

What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job?

That therapists are people too! In my role, I, of course, help guide people on their journeys to learning more about themselves, but above all, I want my patients to know I’m just another human and that I’m right there with them, through the good and the muck.

What do you like most about the work we do at Hidden River?

I most enjoy helping people feel at home in and at peace with their bodies, as they deserve.

What is your favorite part of your workday?

Seeing patients in session make connections and gain insight into their inner workings. There is nothing quite like seeing the light in their eyes when they have an “a-ha!” moment about themselves and the world around them!

What’s the best part about working at Hidden River?

I love working with such caring, cohesive, and collaborative people. I feel really lucky to be on this team.
